Sydney start-up signs deal with Telstra to deliver digital billboards on taxis
Digital billboards will start appearing on the back of taxis nationally as part of a new deal between Telstra and Sydney start-up Cab Digital Media.
The new devices, known as TaxiLive, will deliver safety messages and advertisements, which can be tailored to location, time of day and weather.
Just what drivers need, another distraction on the road. I’m amazed that this was greenlighted by Gov Road Safety depts.
If you look at their website images don’t change when the car is moving. It’s for safety messaging – accidents, congestion alerts, school zones and roadworks etc.
I think it’s great and we should be supporting Australian technology.
This is a really DUMB idea. This is not a community service but a blatent grab for money-making advertising space and will cause more distraction for drivers and possibly more deaths on the road.
