Ten interactive media projects receive Screen NSW funding
Ten interactive media projects have received funding from the NSW government.
Included in the collection of projects is Lost Monsters, a game originally devised as a Facebook app which now includes mobile devices; an interactive app that extends the story of feature film, The Sapphires; a motion comic called The Story of the Goddess Durga by Project M Studios.
Worth $770,000 through the the Interactive Media Fund, formerly the Digital Media Initiative and managed by Screen NSW, the funding is for commercially orientated projects destined for the internet, wireless, mobile, tablets and other emerging platforms.
Deputy premier Andrew Stoner said: “These 10 new projects, from some of NSW’s most exciting and innovative creative talent, were selected for their innovation, quality, originality and interactivity and their potential to contribute to a robust NSW economy and the NSW digital media industry.”
It feels good to finally see it in print! Now it’s real, and all we have to do is make the games. That’s the easy part, right? 😉
Congrats to all the game developers that got funding for this round. They all sound like really innovative projects and it’s promising to see Screen NSW picking up the ball and running with it!
