Ten names Lou Barrett as executive general manager in the wake of MCN sales merger
Network Ten’s sales head Lou Barrett has been given the role of executive general manager, as the broadcaster’s sales team moves across to sales house MCN.
In the new position Barrett, who has held senior roles at ACP, Nine and Macquarie Radio, will continue to “build the relationships between Ten and our advertisers” and oversee Ten’s commercial integration division.
The announcement comes days after the 120 staff formerly under Barrett within Ten moved across to MCN, which the broadcaster took a stake in in June as part of a wider tie up with Foxtel.

It’s not the 80’s.. “The media business is largely built on relationships and I will be focusing on making Ten’s already strong advertiser relationships deeper and more effective.”
Relationships is 20% and Ratings and shows is 80%
Relationships only count at the cash register not warm and fuzzy stuff. With all these allies tell me what a client will do – buy a relationship or buy the best deal around for their business.? If these things have been so important how come 10’s share of the pie has been consistently sub 20 apart from the improvement in recent months due to Masterchef etc.
This is all going to get very, very messy if/when ACCC knocks it back. Ten shares at lowest point ever today, 17 cents.
Congrats Lou.
IPG Mediabrands is thrilled for you!!!
Finally! Some intelligence from the TEN Network.
Lou is a client focused executive and brilliant at that too.
She, with her team, have driven relationships with advertisers and agencies that have fueled TEN’s revenue growth.
A great decision that will deliver for TEN for the foreseeable future..
