Ten to air Julian Assange telemovie tonight
Ten is interrupting its regular scheduled programming to air the 2012 telemovie Underground: The Julian Assange Story tonight, at 8.40pm.
Assange was freed from a UK prison this week, after pleading guilty to a felony charge of conspiring to obtain and disclose classified US national defence documents. He was charged with time served.
Underground was produced for Ten back in 2012, and aired to 1.34 million viewers on debut. It chronicles Assange’s teenage life as a ‘white hat hacker’ (look but don’t steal) in Melbourne, and the Australian Federal Police’s attempts to stop them, at the urging of the FBI.
