Big Bash Super Over pulls viewers as Ten tops night for network share
Ten claimed 18.1 per cent of audience share last night thanks to the Big Bash match which saw the Melbourne Stars take on the Sydney Sixers with the decisive Super Over breaking the 1m viewer mark, pushing Nine into third place with a share of 16 per cent as Seven won the night with a share of 18.3 per cent.
When the secondary channel audience shares are accounted for Ten won the night with a combined share of 27.6 per cent trumping Seven’s overall share of 25.1 per cent, according to Oztam overnight metro ratings.
According to figures from Ten based on the OzTam timings 1.06m metro viewers tuning in for over-running Super Over, while session two was watched by 832,000 metro viewers and 635,000 tuned in for session one while 549,000 metro viewers watched the post-game broadcast.
The Super Over segment was the most watched non-news show of the night, and was the most watched show across all the demographics.
So now TEN is resorting to PR based on ‘peak’ audiences – should be banned.
