Big Bash takes Ten to its first weekday win of the year
Last night’s Big Bash game was a victory for both the Sydney Sixers, who defeated the Melbourne Renegades by six wickets, and Ten, which scored its first weekday win in overall audience share for 2017.
Ten managed an average audience share of 18%, according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings.
The Big Bash game hosted by Roz Kelly, Mark Howard, Mark Waugh and Damien Fleming was the most watched program in key advertising demographics 16-39, 18-49 and 25-54, with 298,000 Melburnians tuning in compared to 190,000 Sydneysiders.
The 25-54s ratings doesn’t seem to be correct it has the #1 program as “Description (grouped)”
Not to be too pedantic, but credit where it’s due, last night I think was Mel Jones (who does a brilliant job), not Mark Howard, (also a great host). Steve Smith also guest commentated. No, I don’t work for TEN, I’m just a massive fan of their coverage.
Last night’s was not Ten’s first win of 2017 but its third. It won on New Year’s Day with the BBL doubleheader giving the network a primary share of 23.3% and a network share of 30.3%. It won again last Saturday (January 7) with a primary share of 18.3% and a network share of 26.9%.
Hi KarmenW,
Thanks for flagging this. The graph has been amended.

Hi Johnson,
Thanks for flagging this. It should have read “weekday win”, as Ten’s other wins, as you have pointed out, both fell in weekends.
This has been corrected.
Thanks,

Also there’s no such thing as an average audience share… it’s just an an audience share.
