Ten’s Adelaide news director Grant Heading to depart

Ten’s veteran Adelaide news chief Grant Heading is to step down at the end of the month, the network has announced. He will be replaced by Jeremy Pudney.

Heading joined Network Ten 23 years ago as news editor before becoming news director two years later.

Network Ten’s Adelaide GM Frank Filosi, said: “Grant has been a stalwart of the Adelaide media scene for over 40 years, first with the ABC and then with Network Ten.

“We will miss Grant, but fully understand his wish, after a lengthy and successful career with us, to give away the daily grind of running a busy newsroom.”

Heading said: “Now it’s time to take a break and explore other opportunities. It’s been a privilege to lead a team of dedicated and gifted journalists over two decades, and I leave the Network with many wonderful memories.”

Speaking of Heading’s replacement, Filosi said: “With his passion for news and his eye for a good story, Jeremy is the perfect choice to lead the Adelaide newsroom.”

Mr Pudney began his career in newspapers before joining Network Ten in 2000 as a journalist in the Adelaide and Melbourne newsrooms. Last year he was appointed Adelaide EP and news editor. He said: “I’m excited to be taking on this role and to be leading and working with our outstanding news teams both here in Adelaide and across the Network.”
