The Bachelor continues to build for Ten but Extant finishes sixth in timeslot

The Bachelor Australia, Blake GarveyTen’s The Bachelor cracked the top ten shows for Wednesday night, boosting its audience by 145,000 to 863,000 metro viewers, overnight OzTam metro TV ratings show.

The Bachelor’s boosted audience wasn’t enough for it to win its timeslot, losing out to The Block and Seven’s The Force – Behind the Line at 7.30pm and Border Security – Australia’s Front Line, which had audiences of 944,000 and 909,000 respectively.

The Bachelor was the second most watched show across all demographics while Nine’s The Block was the most watched, also winning the night with an audience of 1.151m. Sydney and Brisbane enjoyed a second episode of The Block due to the channel broadcasting the NRL in the cities tonight. The episode was watched by 499,000. 

Locally made drama Wonderland, broadcast on Ten at 8:40pm, also boosted its audience, climbing back to 536,000 after posting a series low of 501,000 last week.
