Ten’s Rugby World Cup broadcast brings 274,000 metro viewers on Friday night

Despite being the only free to air sports broadcast on Friday night, Ten’s 8:30pm broadcast of the Rugby World Cup match between Australia and Georgia delivered just 274,000 metro viewers. Combined with the regional markets, the Wallabies received 416,000 viewers. The network’s only program to have cracked the top 15 programs was The Project at 6:30, which attracted 344,000 metro viewers.

Ten came in behind the ABC in audience share, earning an 11.1% share for its primary channel and a 17.1% share for the network, compared to the ABC’s 11.4% and 17.4% channel and network shares, respectively.

ABC News earned 574,000 metro viewers, followed by Gardening Australia and British drama Keeping Faith, with 475,000 and 298,000 metro viewers.
