The Artist wins big at AACTA International Awards
French film The Artist was the big winner at the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts (AACTA) International Awards in Los Angeles on Saturday 28 January.
Winning best film, silent, black and white film beat out The Descendants, Hugo, The Ides of March, Margin Call, Melancholia, Midnight in Paris, Moneyball, The Tree of Life, and We Need to Talk About Kevin.
The film’s Director Michel Hazanaicius also won for best direction while lead male, Jean Dujardin won for best Actor.
Elsewhere at the awards Meryl Streep won best actress for her role in The Iron Lady, who attended the awards.
