The Block: Triple Threat final room reveal beats My Kitchen Rules ahead of Tuesday finale
Last night’s final room reveal for The Block: Triple Threat managed to push My Kitchen Rules from the top spot in the ratings, with the reveal of the apartments’ terraces watched by 1.423m ahead of the auction on Tuesday night.
Seven’s My Kitchen Rules, also in the 7.30pm timeslot, was watched by 1.417m, while the main part of The Block had an audience of 1.218m. The Block room reveal and The Block: Triple Threat were the most-watched and second-most watched shows across the key advertising demographics (16-39, 18-49 and 25-54), with MKR the third-most watched show.
Despite the success of The Block, Seven still managed to win the night with an audience share of 23.8 per cent, just head of Nine’s share of 23.2 per cent. The ABC claimed third place with a share of 11.1 per cent as Ten slipped below double digits with a share of 9.1 per cent.
On Ten, Shark Tank at 7.30pm was watched by 480,000, down from last week’s audience of 548,000, and was easily out-rated by the ABC’s Inside the Commons which at 7.40pm was watched by 543,000 metro viewers.
I wonder if the scriptwriters for The Block get due recognition/credits after the finale for such an imaginative piece of fiction with the two everyone loves to hate walking off the set one day with an immense amount of work to do and returning mid the next day after thinking about it and suddenly revealing a finished terrace. Hmm . . . something doesn’t quite ring true here, people? Maybe they were looking for a boost in ratings – and got with the much-publicised walk-off!
