The Celebrity Apprentice: Genuine water cooler television
Having rated 1.3m, last night, The Celebrity Apprentice had a very solid start for Nine.
But at the gym this morning, quite literally over the water cooler, I overheard two people talking about last night’s show.
It’s a long time since I heard anybody do that regaridng a show that’s only been on for one night. I suspect that it’s going to work.

Without a doubt. Given the personalities involved its great low-brow car crash television.
The celebrities are only celebrities to bogans. I watched the first 10 minutes and I was really embarressed. Unlike a train wreck I really had to switch off!

I watched the entire episode, and I felt dirty, dirty, dirty.
it works on so many levels. There is a celebrity for every demographic in that show and when you mix them up, it was hillarious
I was prepared to hate it and although I did have to ask my flatmate who some of the ‘’celebrities” were I ended up watching it all….

Every scene, every line…has been pre written. So so many shameless advertising plugs. nothing creative here at all, and celebrities…please.
i’ve been a fan of the Apprentice since the early days but I think this one will piss me off real fast. I loved Max Markson’s strategy to create the world’s most expensive car wash and from what I can gather he pulled over $80K largely using his contact list……to have the thinly veiled “even-up” from the AussieBum team of $60K at the last minute for the girls team is outright bullshit and undermines the whole premise of the show.
As if anything the girls team did led to that outcome, and all it will lead to is unwarranted belief they performed well in that task. All wrapped up in some half-arsed sob story from the past. Spare me.
I get the manipulative editing, creation of tension and positive/negative portrayal of individuals at the discretion of the production team, but to create results for the challenges with such clear interference is a joke. Max Markson is not a sympathetic character, but he’s a winner when it comes to business.
I give it 2 weeks before it drops below the 1M mak
caught last night and now on IQ. Jury still out but definiately has the potential to be a smash. Needs a “major incident” to take it to the next level. Pauline’s legs not quite enough.
