The Chaser’s War on the Royal Wedding
The Chaser team is to make a one-off return to ABC television, providing “an alternative live commentary” on the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton on ABC2.
According to the ABC announcement:
“Everyone loves a royal wedding,” said Julian Morrow. “Except perhaps The Queen, who didn’t even bother going to the last one. But The Chaser couldn’t be more thrilled to be covering the big day. And who knows – if it goes well, hopefully they ask us back next year to cover the divorce.”
Comrades! Official government news agency announces to make funny about royal wedding! Laugh now! Is tax dollars at work!
love it – the perfect antidote
Love it…good luck boys, hope you get dry humped by the corgis and Prince Philip !
I love it, and this is how I will watch the royal wedding, (if I can be bothered watching it at all).
One of the few times I don’t mind being involuntarily taxed for the ABC, (and also for any Chris Lily project)
Your old chum Salad cogitates thus: funny? Aye, me hearties! Could be funnier? Rrrrrrr! Where be Alan Partridge, Princess Diana impersonator, Anthony “The Man” Mundine and Colonel Gaddafi?
Any chance of streaming it live in the UK?
The banning of The Chaser has ruined the wedding and showed it up to be the sham that it is. I was enjoying the spectacle until I found out that the royals had banned free speech. I am completely devastated by this, and as an Australian, will not vote for the monarchy in the future.
What an insult! Our best comedians locked out of the wedding. We know what happens when the bad fairy gets insulted. Bad luck for the hapless couple.
I was looking forward to The Chaser’s coverage. The banning has completely put me off the monarchy. I won’t vote for them when the time comes. This has been a gross infringement of free speech.
