The Dressmaker keeps top spot in box office ahead of release of new Bond film this week

Australian film The Dressmaker made another $3m in its second weekend atop the box office with its total takings already topping $8m in just ten days.

However The Dressmaker’s fine run – $3.063m on 382 screens – is likely to come to an end this week as the latest James Bond film SPECTRE is finally released in Australia, having taken nearly US$300m in under a fortnight in most other markets, toppling box office records.

Comedy horror film A Scout’s Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse was the highest new entry in fifth spot despite being released a week after Halloween while Simon Pegg’s new romcom Man Up, about a case of mistaken identity on a blind date, only managed $187,297 on 103 screens in ninth spot.
