The Gruen Transfer fetches 1.27 million and comes in second for Wednesday
The Gruen Transfer came in second place in the ratings last night fetching 1.269 million.
The episode discussed mixing advertising with gaming and whether shampoo was based on dodgy “science.” The Pitch segment, where two ad agencies battle it out to create the best ad for an obscure product or service, was based on privatising the ABC.
Political satire At Home With Julia’s second episode fell back from its 1 million debut last week to 889,000, according to preliminary metro ratings from OzTam.
Seven’s The X Factor was the most-watched show for the night with 1.457 million.

Adam from Naked was very good.
Agree w. the dude above.
They should have him on more often.
Agree, Adam owned it!
Good to see somebody (Adam Ferrier) on Gruen Transfer that is less from the showbiz end of the industry.
BTW, how bad was The Pitch segment? It was terrible. Good brief, too.
Great show!
The bit where Todd Sampson got all excited about the Doritos game was funny and seeing the panel rubbish shampoo ‘science’ allowed me a “I told you so” moment with my wife, who spends way too much on marketing promises…
I love the way Gruen has shown that Ad people are actually quite thoughtful.
This has come as a huge surprise to the general public.
That chick, Dee Madigan (?) was excellent on Gruen last night. Where is she from??
First time I have watched it since the first season. Big ups to Adam , he made last nights episode.
what was so special about Adam? he was a welcome new face but didn’t say anything particular interesting or insightful
was it the fact that he bullshitted less than Todd?
Agree with the above. Thought Adam was brilliant and the lass was very entertaining and polished.
Dont know what you guys are talking about. dont watch gruen transfer.
Big fan of Adam. He was great.
7 must be wrapped with X Factor this year. It’s won every night that it’s been on.
I watched, and enjoyed all the guests on Gruen, especially the Shampoo discussion.
Have to point out that the high rating it received was in part due to the complete rubbish on everywhere else last night.
Yeah Dee Madigan provided some of the best lines of the night. But I think the show is fast reaching its use by date.
Yes Advertising lies to us, Marketers use various tricks to make us desire things we don’t need OK we get it.
Thanks for the nice comments above.
Loud’s campaign was the clear winner in The Pitch
I only remember Dee Madigan when she was the bar manager at The Clock Hotel in Surry Hills (back (edited by Mumbrella) in the early-mid 90’s). She was good at that too.
Dear Aussies at the Transfer,
Thanks for rubbishing the American intellect, at least we are not lazy!
If it weren’t for the 75% or more of American shows coming through to Aus.
you would actually have to come up with some more of your own. Too hard?
And there wouldn’t have been any material for your show. Samegoes for The Doritos element.
Us Americans are serious about our stupidity, unlike you Aussie make it into a joke.
Still enjoyed the show. Just remember there are Yanks watching, you ratbags.
😉
