The Guardian announces further appointments including blogger Greg Jericho

The Guardian has announced its Australian reporting staff ahead of its launch later this year.

The British newspaper has this morning confirmed the appointment of commentator Greg Jericho as its economics writer, political scientist Simon Jackman ahead of the 2013 Federal Election. Jericho and Jackman join Katherine Murphy and Lenore Taylor who were poached from Fairfax in February.

It has also appointed reporters Helen Davidson, currently a journalist at SBS; Bridie Jabour, a reporter at the Brisbane Times; Oliver Milman, the editor of StartupSmart.com.au and Nick Evershed multimedia editor at Fairfax Regional Digital Media, who joins as a data journalist. Fairfax journalist Mike Ticher will also join as site editor for the Asia-Pacific timezone.
