The Hallway creates long-form film content for three-screen Barco Escape cinema in US

Hallway BarcoSydney agency The Hallway has been charged with creating a five minute film showcasing a new cinema format being trialled in the US which immerses the audience in three screens.

The Barco Escape cinema format will be showcased at the Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose this week as part of its Future of Film segment.

Hallway executive creative director Simon Lee wrote and directed the five minute film, which splits its story across three screens, with a traditional cinema screen in the front and two screens each side of the audience, not dissimilar to the way some PC gamers use three screens to immerse themselves in games.

Touching Heaven is the first Australian film made using the Barco format. It was shot in Sydney and above rural Victoria with the help of a wing-suit team.
