The Hoopla’s We Magazines launches website Birdee for teenage girls
Independent publisher We Magazines which publishes, news and magazine website The Hoopla, has today launched a new website Birdee catering to teenage girls.
The website will be edited by The Hoopla’s managing editor Hayley Gleeson and according to its announcement will be: “a clever and empowering new website where girls can talk about the stuff that really matters to them”.
Birdee carries various sections including wellbeing, popular culture, style, sex and literature.

It’s definitely cool to see something like this in Australia. I’ve watched Rookie grow over the years and wondered why there wasn’t an Australian version.
There is an Australian version of Rookie – and it was created more than 20 years before Rookie, actually. It’s called Girlfriend. Pick up a copy if you haven’t seen it lately.

Wow. Surely that’s the story? In the same week Fairfax erects a paywall, people are getting paid for blogging?
