The Local Project’s Aidan Anderson shares his publishing journey
At a time when printed publications are finding the going extraordinarily tough, Aidan Anderson and his The Local Project group are defying the trend.

Newsagent sector leader Mark Fletcher told Mumbrella recently how specialisation is the way forward for printed magazines – a business model that is paying off big time for Anderson and his specialist design magazine and books.
The Local Project has been a regular at several Publish Awards events, but it went next level this year, winning four Mumbrella Publish Awards – Publication of the Year, Publishing Company of the Year, Special Edition of the Year, and Publisher Leader of the Year for Anderson.
Mumbrella sat down to talk with Anderson just after he returned from a three city global launch tour for his latest books Designers at Home and Architects at Home. Launch functions were held in London, New York and Sydney.

It’s refreshing to hear success stories from the local media industry. A welcome alternative to the doom and gloom narrative. Aidan has created an incredible brand and business by finding a valuable niche and delivering an exceptional product. Congrats to him and his team.
