Dr Mumbo is touched by opposition media spokesman Malcolm Tunbull’s concerns for journalists and the future of newspapers.

Dr Mumbo, would you say you lean to the left?
I can say he certainly dresses to the left.
Supercilious and sanctimonious.
No mention of the court-case that halted the roll-out? Sure the plan did not factor in court action making the target unachievable, but is he suggesting that NBNCo should ignore the courts? Or is it typical LNP “take no prisoners” tactics. The fact they were able to deliver using alternative conduits is a positive in my book (it’s called back-fill Malcolm).
Seriously, this is the same logic that gave Sydney a two-lane M5 that was superseded before it was opened. If Malcolm and hus Luddites had their way back in the 1920s they would have built a two-lane Sydney Harbour Bridge. We need more John Bradfield thinking and less Turnbull thinking.
(And no I do not work for NBNCo or any of its contractors or hold any pecuniary interests. I just want the damned think built NOW and not be slagged by reactionary accountan-liket Luddites.)

Given that this guy will more than likely be our next PM it is disturbing…
Of course what he’s not saying is how long people in the bush will have to wait for decent telecommunications under a coalition government. Just about all opponents to the NBN have one thing in common – they all live in a big city and their internet connection is just fine.
Mr Turnbull – you’ve already made a fortune with the internet, why won’t you allow your country cousins to have an opportunity to do the same?
“Slightly tongue in cheek tone” – you’re kidding aren’t you? It’s satire from start to finish and very effective at that. Just quietly….come in close here… his target isn’t newspapers, it’s the cargo cult mentality behind the NBN.
