Exactly four years ago, we announced the launch of the Unmade Index. It was our means of tracking the performance of all of the ASX-listed media and marketing companies.
In the years since, my favourite piece of feedback was from an executive on the management team of a large broadcaster who told me the Unmade Index had made it easier for non-financial staff to understand the context of why the company share price matters.
Since then, at the close of trading, we’ve explored the winners and losers of the day, captured the key announcements and used the overall Unmade Index number to track the health of the entire sector. Further down, we’ll share how the index tracked this year.
And once a year, we’ve named a CEO of the Year from one of those companies. Our selection is based on the metrics – which company has most increased in value over the 12 months in question? Admittedly, there is a subjective element here: Does one look for percentage growth in share price, percentage growth in market capitalisation, or actual increase in dollar value?
