The Voice finale draws 1.287m, down on previous years

More than 1.287m Australians tuned in to see Alfie Arcuri named the winner of Nine’s reality singing contest The Voice last night.

Alfie ArcuriThe result was the lowest ever recorded result for a finale of The Voice, well down on previous years, the show drew a metro audience 1.552m last year and 1.66m the year before. 

Overall the program drew an average audience of 1.153m while rival Masterchef on Ten drew 982,000 viewers for the beginning of its cooking week in California.

Despite not winning its timeslot Ten’s Masterchef performed well in the demographics winning 16-39s and 18-49s.
