The waitress, the seatbelt and the fellatio that didn’t happen takes NT News to traffic record

A barmaid’s colourful denial of causing a ute to crash by performing fellatio on the driver has delivered the Northern Territory News with the highest traffic in the website’s history, after the tale went viral.  

Several sites in the UK and US linked to the story, written by journalist Rebekah Cavanagh and featuring Darwin waitress Allyson White, which attributed this memorable quote to the vehicle’s passenger after the prang:

“Clearly I had my seat belt on, so it’s impossible I’d be leaning over ****ing his ***** unless he is hung like a donkey or I’ve got a ******* rubber neck. If it was true I’d just cop it sweet and think ‘how embarrassing, I got caught ****ing someone’s ****’. But it is not true and that’s what is p***ing me off. It didn’t happen like that at all — he was just going too fast.”

Emailed links to the story have also been doing the rounds in Australia, resulting in an increase in domestic visitors to the NT News site of about 30% since the day the story was published, according to Nielsen Market Intelligence data. Prior to the story, the site had been averaging just over 8000  unique browsers from within Australia per day. This had risen to neary 11,000 yesterday with steady growth every day since the story’s publication.
