TigerSpike sells stake to Aegis Media

Mobile agency TigerSpike has sold an $11m minority share to Aegis Media as it gears up for global growth.

The Australian-founded company currently has offices in Sydney, London and New York.

According to today’s announcement: “The funding will accelerate TigerSpike’s growth plans, expand its product group and extend its reach into new markets, particularly Asia-Pacific.  As part of the agreement, TigerSpike will leverage Aegis’ existing global network.”

Aegis has become an increasingly significant player in Australia since purchasing Mitchell Communication Group last year.

TigerSpike’s Asia-Pacific MD Alex Burke said: “The investment is a significant milestone in TigerSpike’s history.”

Launched in Australia in 2003, TigerSpike’s clients include Woolworths, Vodafone, Telstra, Diageo, SBS, The Economist, NewsCorp, ResMed and World Wildlife Fund.
