Tim Whitfield departs GroupM

Head of operations and technology at WPP’s GroupM, Timothy Whitfield, is leaving the company today.
Whitfield’s next career move is not yet clear.
GroupM CEO Mark Lollback confirmed the departure.
“Tim leaves the business in great shape after a five-year career at GroupM and we thank him for his dedication. We wish him well in his future career,” Lollback said in a statement issued to Mumbrella.
Whitfield joined WPP’s Xaxis – which executed real-time bidding opportunities for GroupM agencies – as operations director in April 2013, before becoming director of technical operations for GroupM in August 2015.
He began his latest role in November last year.
Make Sense ?
Yes. Makes complete sense.
Great operator. Interested to see where his next move is
What is it they say about the inverse relationship between the length of the statement and the level of acrimony…?
How’s the AdTech bloodbath going?

Coupla farewell gins?
crikey! What a bunch of shitty messages for a very pleasant self-effacing marketer that went out of his way to help others.
Good luck with the next chapter Tim. Sorry you are surrounded by such a bunch of anonymous wankers.
Good luck on your next move Tim. Big loss for GroupM.
Your experience as a male industry leader would have been polar opposite to a junior ad tech employee.

Best of luck Tim! Appreciate the guidance you’ve given over the last few years. You will do well!
….Much better than the offline massacre of 2017…
Good luck Tim. I’m sure your planet sized mind will find a suitable new challenge soon.
…that Gentlemen’s Gin Club was a really, really, really stupid idea.
Best of luck with everything Tim
Agreed – great operator.
Sincere and best wishes Tim – thank you for all your help over these past 12 months. Very much appreciated indeed 🙂
all the best to people moving in and out!
Well said Professor!
Whilst I choose to remain anonymous it’s not because I want to bash Tim. In contrast I wish Tim the very best. He is a terrific fellow and wherever he lands next will be getting an immense talent.

“We wish him well in his future career,” … amounts to being asked to leave….
Best of luck with everything Tim.
I’ve had the pleasure of working under Tim for a number of years at Facilitate Digital in Sydney. What a fine gentleman and brilliant technology guru! I learned so much from Tim. I was happy for him at GroupM and I know wherever he lands, he’ll once again prove himself to be the best Operations and Technology Leader in the business! Go Tim…I certainly wish you the super success!
It’s different, they’re female, and it’s allowed.
