Time Out Sydney scores Banksy coup

Time Out Sydney has pulled off a coup with anonymous graffiti artist Banksy creating a piece of artwork for the cover of the magazine’s next edition.

The file was emailed to the magazine at 4am today. Although the magazine has not yet released the image, Mumbrella understands it feature a trademark Bansky rat.

The magazine will also carry a rare interview with the controversial artist timed to coincide with his first film Exit Through The Gift Shop, being shown at the Sydney Film Festival next month.

Time Out editor Dan Rookwood said: “We’re pretty stoked, and if we’re totally honest, a little surprised too.  Banksy, being anonymous, just doesn’t do interviews generally and has never done a cover for any magazine except Time Out London and Time Out New York as far as we’re aware – so this is a real coup for us.”
