Tinder calls for interracial couples emoji in new campaign
Online dating app, Tinder, has created a #representlove campaign to petition for interracial couples to be represented on Unicode’s emoji.
The global #representlove campaign, created by Marcel Sydney, asked tech industry standards group Unicode to allow mobile phone users to customise the skin tone of the couple with the heart emoji.
Unicode is the global standards organisation for computer characters including cartoon emojis. Having approval from the body means it is easier to build emoji into smartphones and computers.
