Today and Weekend Today shuffle their lineups
Channel 9 has shuffled its morning show lineups for both Today and Weekend Today following Brooke Boney’s departure.
As announced last month, Weekend Today co-host Jayne Azzopardi has replaced Boney as Today’s news presenter.
Azzopardi worked at ITN, BBC, CNBC, and Al Jazeera, before joining Nine 15 years ago, where she has covered two Federal elections and several leadership changes.
Nine reporter Sophie Walsh will move into Azzopardi’s old seat, co-hosting Weekend Today alongside Clint Stanaway.
“I’m thrilled to be moving into the host seat alongside my great mate Clint, not only is he a brilliant journo, he can field a curveball like no other,” Walsh said.
“We’ve already shared so many great moments together on Weekend Today and I’m looking forward to stepping up into the new role and giving our viewers an authentic and fun start to their weekend.”

Lizzie Pearl will also join the Weekend Today team, as newsreader, while former Channel [V] host Renee Bargh will cover Boney’s entertainment round on Today.
Boney announced her decision to leave Today back in March, revealing her plans to study at Oxford.
“It’s been a dream of mine to be able to study at an overseas university, and it just felt like the right time to take that step,” she said at the time.
“I’m so grateful to come in here every day and I love you all so much. So it’s made the decision really difficult.”

Boney joined Today in 2019, coming from triple j where she worked alongside now-NOVA duo, Ben & Liam.
