Today slips to a record low of 155,000 metro viewers
It seems Nine’s decision to bring back Karl Stefanovic, partnered with 60 Minutes’ Allison Langdon, hasn’t yet turned breakfast program Today’s hopes around. The show equalled its record low in the ratings period, dropping to 155,000 metro viewers on Monday morning.
The number equals November 1, 2019, when the show also hit 155,000 with Georgie Gardner and Deborah Knight at the helm. The pair’s final show was November 8.

Karl and Ally haven’t charmed viewers yet
Is anyone really surprised that Karl (and Ali) have failed to fire with viewers? How do these numbers compare with those achieved by Georgie Gardiner and Deb Knight (who were axed because of their ratings performance)?
Hi Denny,
Georgie Gardner and Deb Knight debuted to 197,000 metro viewers at the top end of 2019. I believe they hit a low somewhere around 163,000 on one day in October, 2019, but obviously averaged higher than that.
The final outing of Gardner and Knight had 191,000.
Some other comparison points could be:
* 239,000 tuned in to watch the aftermath of Karl Stefanovic’s departure
* 256,000 watched the first episode with Stefanovic and Gardner in 2018
* 301,000 watched the morning after Lisa Wilkinson’s departure in 2017
Hope that helps.

No wonder with 24-7 doom and gloom coverage of the coronavirus and Karl trying to operate in a very restricted PC environment. Very cringeworthy viewing.
