Today spared ratings hammering – despite airing Michael Jackson result in Brisbane twice

Nine breakfast show Today was spared a hammering in the ratings in Brisbane yesterday, despite airing an hour of the same show – on the Michael Jackson death trial – twice.

Today still managed to attract an audience of 76,000 in Brisbane – 6,000 more than the previous day. However, having been beaten by Today nationally on Monday, Sunrise restored its advantage, winning the breakfast slot by 18,000 viewers. Sunrise rated 410,000 to Today’s 392,000.

Seven’s Australia’s Got Amazing Talent performed solidly, rating with 1.09m. It won the 8.30pm timeslot, outgunning Nine’s Two and a Half Men, which fell away compared to last week dropping 81,000 viewers.

After a miserable Monday, Ten was back in the top ten most-watched shows, with NCIS rating more than 1m and helping the network to narrowly push Nine down to third place.
