Tomb Raider remake pulls $2.8m in weekend box office debut, knocking Black Panther off top spot

Warner Bros’ new Tomb Raider film made almost $3m on its first weekend, enough to finally edge Black Panther off the Australian weekend box office throne.

The film – a reboot of the Lara Croft franchise originally starring Angelina Jolie – made $2.787m across 559 screens, according to the Motion Picture Distributors Association of Australia.
