Tony Jones farewells Today after he ‘got the arse’
Tony Jones, the sports presenter for Nine’s struggling morning program Today, has signed off for the last time, by telling viewers he ‘got the arse’.
Jones, who wasn’t in the studio for his final appearance, brought his dog Archie to his live cross and began by addressing his sign-off to the canine, saying, “Archie, it’s not a great morning. You should have just stayed in bed with mum, shouldn’t you, mate?”

Sounds a bit self-indulgent from Jones. Surely you just move on? Television is a game of musical chairs anyway.
The best thing I ever did was get a smart tv so I didn’t have to watch talking heads with their drivel dribble on. They may report a world record on some sport but invariably they don’t report the time etc. I Google what I want to know these days.
Other than a few people north of 60 years old, I doubt anyone saw this or cares.
I saw it and I’m only 59!
TJ is much more at home on 3AW subbing for Neil Mitchell, he’s a nice bloke too.
We, the public, never really know what goes on behind the scenes, and we will never find out the sourcecofvtension between Jones and rest of the Morning team. However, Jones seems bitter which is a pity.
However, getting rid of Georgie Gardner was a huge mistake by Channel 9. She is classy, delightful and has a great sense of humour. Another network will pick her up and 9 will lose again.
As for Stefanovic, another poor decision by 9 to bring him back. I, along with many other people will switch to Channel 7 in 2020.

Won’t be watching to day if Karl comes back. I’m over them changing the cast who are really doing a good job

Congratulations 9 …BRINGING BACK KARL HAS MADE OUR MORNING TV VIEWING so much brighter…. so sorry to see Georgie go …Ally will make a great partner for Karl.. however we have been watching the funny antics of Lisa and Karl on YouTube of a night and have been enjoying a really good laugh ..great memories of those two…..

I think “9” will be safe while Kochie stays at “7”, but if he leaves, viewers will swap over to “7”……..
Very sad to see George go and Tony go.
Deb has been very hard to watch and Brooke isn’t much better.
Thank god Karl is coming back this might be the come back that is needed to get Today back on track.
