Triple M and 1116 SEN to simulcast tribute to Danny Frawley
On Saturday, Southern Cross Austereo’s Triple M and Pacific Star Network’s 1116 SEN will simulcast a special edition of The Saturday Rub in tribute to the recently deceased Danny ‘Spud’ Frawley.
Frawley, a former AFL star as well as media commentator and mental health advocate, passed away on Monday.
His death was felt across the Melbourne AFL community, with media and AFL identity Eddie McGuire and Foxtel’s CEO Patrick Delany both taking a moment out of last night’s Foxtel Media relaunch to pay tribute to their colleague and friend. The first seven pages of News Corp’s Melbourne paper the Herald Sun were dedicated to Frawley yesterday.
My deepest condolences on Spud. Tell the boys to appreciate the time we had to spend we him in our lives. Maybe these times are for us to reflect on what we have until we lose it. Some people are just simply larger than life and their lives shine so brightly around us that we don’t appreciate it until it burns out.
Please tell the boys Chief , Lyons, Moons,Bernie and especially Spuds family that to stay strong and that everyone involved are in our prayers and thoughts.
May he rest in peace and finally become our producer and coach from above.
So pleasant to hear the response of Spuds friends and AFL supporters. Sincerely loved . Must have been a good man Pembos from Beachworth.
