Usher exclusive fails to give Hey Hey major boost, but attracts some younger viewers

Nine’s Hey Hey It’s Saturday managed only a marginal rise in ratings compared to last week despite a much promoted exclusive performance by R’n’B star Usher, while Seven’s war epic last night slipped below one million.

Ten’s Masterchef was the unsurprising winner in overall audiences with 1.685m, while in terms of channel share Nine was able to hang onto the top spot, according to preliminary overnight OzTam data for the main metro markets.

Hey Hey It’s Saturday saw a slight rise from 1.034m last week to 1.101m. However, it slipped from second last week to fourth last night among 25-54 year old viewers.

In this demographic the ABC’s Spicks and Specks faired better, coming in second to Masterchef.
