Vegan Nazis of the Hunter Valley
As any social media guru will tell you, you should be very careful what you push out on the World Wide Web, and in particular social media, as it could come back to haunt you.
The owners of Hunter Valley burger restaurant Tuk Tuk have obviously never heard that particular piece of advice, after taking exception to a ‘tie dye’ t-shirt wearing Vegan coming into their establishment, the following was posted on its Facebook page:
The post verbatim:

Wow 261 vegans got up in arms on Facebook.
I guess more would’ve… but they lacked the strength…
This reeks like one of those attempted beatups on a business, and a desire to be on the leading edge by reporting it quickly, but basically no one gives a f^ck.
Piss poor journalism mumbrella, you usually do better, like in this semi-relevant example… https://staging.mumbrella.com.au/uber-marketer-people-complain-brand-probably-fraudsters-261279

Totally agree with Mike. They are two groups on the opposite sides of the fence. Let them fight it out, it’s entertaining but doesn’t require the highbrow analysis and criticism of the mumbrella editorial team. I support this tactic of responding appropriately given the place is a burger shop. Just playing up to your core audience I say.
I wonder if it’s time for Social Media 101 to be replaced with an Advanced Module – business owners should be allowed the freedom of expression that (largely) anonymous Trip Advisor reviewers enjoy and abuse.
As Lord Grantham might say, I don’t approve of their language but I support their position – everyone has the right to build their own brand how they see fit.
It not about Veganism!! It’s about the lack of customer service this idiot has… If he bagged out someone who was Muslim, Indian, gluten free, diabetic… Or any other minority group it would be the same thing… Only thing difference would be the media would have been outraged. It’s a sad world when a customer who buys from the menu and pays money is attacked on social media
I’m seriously tired of this epidemic of confected outrage.
Why would a vegan go to a burger restaurant.??
I don’t go to my local vegetarian lunch spot and grizzle and complain and take to FB in outrage when I can’t get a thick New York cut medium-rare steak with bacon bitz on the side.
The burger guy gave adequate product disclaimer when he warned of the potential “contamination” of the hot plate.
Sheesh.!

Where are they now?
