Victoria Police recites pledge to commemorate officers killed in line of duty

Police officers have recited their pledge to commemorate 30 years of officers killed in the line of duty for the Victoria Police’s Blue Ribbon Foundation campaign.

The digital campaign, created by DPR&Co, encourages Victorians to donate in order to create “living memorials” such as emergency medical facilities named after fallen police officers.

In 30 years, 159 police officers have lost their life while in the line of duty in Victoria.

Phil Huzzard, DPR&Co principal, said in a statement: “Each year we look forward to the opportunity to bolster awareness around this amazing cause.

“Funds raised have helped to create 53 living memorials, including the Mark Bateman Memorial Helipad at Portland Hospital, honouring senior constable Bateman who died with his colleague while responding to an emergency call. We are proud to support such a worthy cause.”

Dentsu X has also donated media space to help the ads run in newspapers and on billboards.
