Walkley Foundation announces 2019 Mid-Year Celebration finalists

The Walkley Foundation has named the finalists for its 2019 Mid-Year Celebration. Those selected are peer-judged and chosen on the basis of journalistic excellence.

The awards up for grabs include Young Australia Journalist of the Year, Freelancer of the Year, Best Industrial Reporting and the inaugural Media Diversity Australia Award.

The winners of the awards will be announced in Sydney at the Mid-Year Celebration on June 26. The winning recipients will also be named at this event for the Jacoby-Walkley Scholarship with Nine, the Media Super Scholarship with Seven, the William Buckland Foundation Fellowship with The Age and the Sean Dorney Grant for Pacific Journalism.
