Weber Shandwick digital head jumps to Edelman
Edelman has appointed Weber Shandwick head of digital, Matthew Gain, into the same role in Australia which will also see him provide strategic consultancy across the PR firm’s operations in the APAC region.
Gain joined Weber Shandwick eight months ago to lead its digital strategy across Asia Pacific, working on brands including MasterCard, Procter & Gamble, Vodafone and Samsung.
Prior to that he worked in-house as consumer PR manager at Microsoft UK for over a year and has also previously held roles with Edelman UK and Ogilvy PR Australia. He also writes a media and marketing blog.
Gain will commence in the newly-created role in July.
His appointment closely follows the addition of former Hill & Knowlton CEO Michelle Hutton into the same position, as well as the appointment of Alexandra Kelly as GM for Sydney.
Congrats to Matt. All the best in your new role.

Hey Matt – congratulations!
Thanks all for your kind comments.
@Max Bystander Michelle hasn’t actually started at Edelman yet, so her profile is right. I will let her know you are keeping an eye on it though, so she should update it on her first day! 🙂
