Will Lavender hands over agency reins to Roy Capon of DigitasLBi
Will Lavender, founder of the eponymously named direct and CX agency, will step back as CEO, handing the day-to-day running of the business to DigitasLBi Singapore boss Roy Capon.
The former joint head of digital and clients services director at Euro RSCG in Sydney, will be returning to Australia to take on the role as Lavender steps up to become chairman.
Capon has spent the past four years as CEO Asia Pacific and MENA for DigitasLBi, based out of Singapore.
Prior to that he was chief client officer and client group managing director for Wunderman after moving from Y&R Brands where he was client group managing director.
Funny how Will Lavender missed an opportunity to make the story about his new CEO, Roy Capon.
By plastering his face across mumbrella, adnews and bandt, Will ensured that he was still the focus of a story that should have been more significant as it represents a changing of the guard. We’re in the communications business but often we end up communicating the wrong things when ego gets in the way.
Virginia, it sounds to me like you’re unhappy at work and need something to complain about…. is your boss giving you a hard time?
If you knew anything about Lavender you’d be aware of how well they treat their people – it’s the direct opposite of an ego-driven workplace.

Serge-baby, that wasn’t my experience
I have to second Hmmmmm and concur with Virginia : “The Horror, The Horror, The Horror”
That’s interesting Virginia! I hadn’t realised Mumbrella had delegated all editorial direction to Will Lavender.

Lavender probably the last of the great independent agencies.
Certainly good to the people that worked for them.
What was that team that won the Westpac TVC pitch a few years back, Lovesy-Cox.
…somehow that reminds me of a girl I knew once
