Women host TV breakfast shows. Joint is not destroyed.
Dr Mumbo notices what was probably a first for Australian television today: Of the country’s four live breakfast TV shows, two were presented by all female duos.
Sky News and ABC News breakfast both moved away from the somewhat tired idea that audiences would run away screaming if there was no man on screen.
On the ABC, regular host Virginia Trioli was joined by Kumi Taguchi who was standing in for Michael Rowland. Dr Mumbo understands that although it was the pair’s first time together, it is the third time News Breakfast has had an all female lineup.
Meanwhile, Sky News’s Laura Jaye and Nina Stevens fronted First Edition.
Next theyll be letting those homosexuals get married… grab the flaming torches folks!
OH NO! This is the thin end of the wedge, Lysistrata, the camel’s nose in the tent, and les mères lyonnaises all converging at once.
I can scarcely believe that this is happening, except that with all the clatter and protestation being made about the gender wages gap, it is probably working out cheaper for the Television stations, who need a break right now.

Also, ABC could have a pair of mute eight-year-olds host the show and the ‘sky wouldn’t fall’, because ratings are irrelevant to them.
Yep, it’s probably news that two of them are doing it on the same day but Lisa Wilkinson and Georgie Gardner hosted the Today Show numerous times over the past few years when Karl was away on leave or duties for 60 Mins. And I’m sure if you asked, Sunrise would probably tell you that Natalie Barr and Melissa Doyle have taken the reigns together years ago. Might be worth a follow up with the big two?
Fair play to ABC and other stations for embracing this but it’s a bid off that this is even a story and not just normality. I’m sure that when they were looking for a stand-in, like most, would pick the person on merits, not gender.
