Workshop to educate industry on new rules for employing children under 15
An information evening will be held next week by the Victorian Department of State Development, Business and Innovation to educate the marketing and entertainment industries on new rules regarding the employment of children under 15.
The announcement:
The Victorian Department of State Development, Business and Innovation (DSDBI) will host a networking event next week to coincide with the launch of a new guide to a mandatory code covering the employment of children in entertainment.
From October 13 new rules will be introduced in Victoria for the employment of child talent in TV, film, photography, advertising, live performances and other entertainment. This will also be relevant to NSW agencies who work across the border in Victoria. These rules will make it easier for employers to understand and meet their legal obligations and mean that children working in entertainment and advertising will be even better protected.
