World Cup Cricket thriller boosts Gem and Fox Sports but can’t touch My Kitchen Rules
The thrilling finale to the World Cup Cricket semi final between South Africa and New Zealand handed good audience boosts for Gem and Fox Sports, with the pay-TV broadcaster seeing 440,000 people tune in to see the overrunning climax of the contest.
Oztam preliminary overnight ratings show 253,000 viewers tuned into Fox Sports 3 for the second innings of the one day match, climbing to 440,000 in the final overs and for the post-match wrap. Nine’s multichannel Gem had 178,000 metro viewers tuning in for the second innings.
However Seven’s My Kitchen Rules won the night with a metro audience of 1.535m at 7.30, a slight decrease on last week’s audience of 1.56m. It was the most-watched show across all the demographics and easily out-rated reality rival The Block: Triple Threat which grabbed a metro audience of 816,000 viewers on Nine, down from last week’s audience of 821,000.
