X-Men: Apocalypse number one at weekend box office, Captain America slides to third
Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Apocalyse opened at number one at the weekend box office, the eighth in the X-Men franchise. The film brought in $6.444m across 574 screens on its opening weekend.
The Angry Birds Movie took in $1.921m across 337 screens in its second weekend, a drop from its opening box office of $2.629m. Despite the drop in earnings, the film remains in second spot.
Captain America: Civil War has lost its number one spot, dropping to third this week. The film took in $1.799m over the weekend across 347 screens, a significant decline from the previous weekend’s take of $3.830m.
