Google flies Bondi Hipsters to London
Video sharing site YouTube’s parent company Google has funded the creators of web series Bondi Hipsters to travel to London for the Olympics.
Christiaan van Vuuren and Nick Boshier, did a callout for sponsorship in March seeking support to send them to the UK at the time of the games. They have already acquired Olympic accreditation.
The duo play Bondi hipsters Dom and Adrian and have acquired a growing following on YouTube with their Bondi anthem The Life Organic already topping half a million views.
Excellent. Well done guys. To bad the irony is lost on many…
I love this!
What a great move by YouTube and Google. This will only encourage more and more people to head to youtube to try and “make it”.
I really really really don’t want to like this…..but I just can’t help it. It’s actually very good.
And hells yeah what a great fit youtube is for the boys, well played all.
Totes rads.
I want to hate this with a passion.
But I can’t. 🙂
‘Olympsies’ = brilliant

i can’t believe that the one of the biggest companies in the world has noticed the boys worth, yet our local TV producers havnt picked up on them yet. big things to come guys! keep it up!
Is a mumbrella an umbrella for mums?
Upple scented Cundles, Sund Pits, Brunds and Fushion, inspired by the Olympsies.
I wanna see em do an ad for the CBA !
Bondi Hipsters – i gather – WERE in talks with one of the local networks (Seven?) but Seven wanted them to TOTES tone it all down…ie; you can’t show sydney hipsters doing coke on the weekend and then going to bikram yoga on monday morning sort of thing.
the tone-down and eventual loss of their core audience made it not worth it. paradigms are shifting all over the place.
Good work fellas… proud of youse
i can think of one bank who could have used these lads in their latest olympic work…
Great opportunity to hone some British accents and dialects.
So underground and hip… it’s like being on the London tube, wearing a W neck.
A well connected media type skewering strawman hipsters. Jesus, talk about cynical. Guess that wouldn’t matter if it was even slightly funny.
