When all you’ve got left to write about is disliking fruit peel

Spare a thought for journos at Christmas.

Sometimes they get to the end of the year, scrape the barrel, and discover they’ve got  nothing left for inspiration but fruit peel.

In such circumstances, the result can be painful.
