530,000 metro viewers tune in for Nine’s 2020 Australian Open Rally for Relief

530,000 metro viewers tuned in to Nine on Wednesday night to watch tennis favourites including Serena Williams, Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer and Nick Kyrgios join up with Women’s Tennis Association players at Melbourne’s Rod Laver arena for the 2020 Australian Open Rally for Relief which sought to raise money for Australia’s bushfire crisis.

The event was watched by 623,000 national viewers and saw the tennis greats take part in mixed doubles and a tournament to raise funds. Almost $5m was raised for the Victorian Bushfire Appeal during the event, including $250,000 donated by Nadal and Federer who said they had been deeply saddened watching the traumatic events Australia has been through over the last few months.
