That’s democracy: 93% prefer internet life under a profit-sucking behemoth to Conroyland
You may recall that yesterday, media minister Stephen Conroy opened fire on Facebook, asking the question:
“What would you prefer?’ A corporate giant who is answerable to no one and motivated solely by profit making the rules on the internet, or a democratically elected government with all the checks and balances in place?”
We put it to a poll.
The results:
Well it could have been re-written:
A corporate giant who is answerable to no one and motivated solely by profit making the rules on the internet?
A political hack who is answerable to no one and motivated solely by securing conservative and right-wing christian support for the next election?
In my own polling data, it seems that more people believe that Technoviking would be qualified to run the department, than the Senator.

The above is just the opposite of most other survey’s.
which goes to prove this survey is dodgy.
398 people sure isnt a big enough sample to make it a proper survey anyway.
Makes me wonder IF Telstra PAID Dr Mumbo or he actually works for Telstra. along with the 398 respondents.
^Anything with a sample size over 100 is a “proper survey”. Bear in mind this is probably industry people with a clue answering the survey, and not clueless mums and dads on the smh or today tonight website.

Don’t forget, that a “proper survey” is one where you take a random selection of the population, not a self-selecting one where the only people responding are those who feel strongly enough about the issue to bother answering a voluntary survey.
So, no, this isn’t a “proper survey” at all, merely an amusing poll, as clearly indicated by the way the question was framed. 😀
