‘A defining moment for our industry’: Omnicom completes $20b IPG acquisition

Omnicom Group has finally completed its US$13 billion (A$20.1 billion) acquisition of IPG Mediabrands, putting an end to a year of uncertainty following the deal’s announcement.

The announcement comes just two days after the European Commission unconditionally approved the deal, removing the last regulatory block between the third- and fourth-largest advertising companies coming together.

“This is a defining moment for our company and our industry,” said John Wren, Chairman and CEO of Omnicom in a statement from the holding company’s global press tearm in New York.
