A tub a day keeps food wastage away with new Farmers Union and Thinkerbell initiative

Farmers Union Greek Style Yoghurt is combatting food waste with the launch of its ‘tub-aware’ initiative, via Thinkerbell.
Using the knowledge that Australian households can waste up to $2500 worth of food each year, the tub-aware campaign is designed to inspire people to reuse their tubs for leftover storage and meal reinventions.
“Farmers Union’s 1kg tub makes the perfect container to store leftovers,” said Thinkerbell’s head tinker, Regina Stroombergen.
“It’s strong, stackable, easy to clean and just the right size. Given the current cost of living, reducing food waste is really important and just by adding Farmers Union yogurt you can easily make leftover roast lamb into souvlaki, potatoes into potato salad, stewed fruit into bircher and roast vegetables into soup. It’s the most versatile ingredient you can have in your fridge.”
“Farmers Union Greek Style Yogurt is the perfect balance of creaminess and tartness and truly goes with anything and makes everything taste better,” added Nicole Alifragis, brand manager at Bega Group – the company that owns Farmers Union.
“A dollop of our delicious yogurt can breathe new life into last night’s dinner, saving those leftovers from ending up in the bin.”
The campaign’s release comes after Farmers Union partnered with recipe app, Saveful – a collaboration that “has enabled Saveful to continue to have a positive environmental impact, while helping consumers to save money, save food and save time.”
The platform is playing out across out of home, social, partnership, in-store activity and influencer channels.
Farmers Union’s tub-aware containers will remain in the market until late September.

My mom, did this in the 70’s and I still do! Infact still have and use some of the old round containers!
