ABC beats Nine and Ten to place second on Saturday ratings ladder

The highest-rating show on Saturday night pulled just 785,000 metro viewers, with the ABC accounting for five of the top 10 programs, according to OzTAM’s overnight preliminary metro ratings.

Nine News placed first on the ratings ladder, but the network still came in third with an overall audience share of 13.2%, behind Seven’s winning 20.0% and ABC’s 15.4%. Ten placed fourth for the evening, with a 6.4% audience share, just ahead of SBS’ 4.5%. 

Seven had just one program in the top 10 – Seven News with a second-place worthy 780,000 – but six in the top 20 including 11th-placed Weekend Sunrise (320,000 metro viewers), Saturday Night AFL (315,000), the later segment of Weekend Sunrise (262,000), the pre-match AFL program (259,000) and the film 2012 (256,000).
